Kamala Harris, a California state Senator and former Prosecutor, has announced that it will participate in the presidential elections of 2020. She will become the first African-American woman, which is nominated by the Democrats for President, if the party will endorse a candidate. 54-year-old Harris is planning to start a presidential campaign during a rally in Oakland (CA) on January 27.

Occupying the post of US Senator Harris actively supported the rights of immigrants and against racial discrimination to the Supreme court. It also supports Medicare for all, the legalization of recreational marijuana, tax cuts for middle and working class and increase for corporations and the rich. As her fame grew, Harris supported other candidates from ethnic communities, nominated to the Senate, including women.

Criticism of the candidacy of Harris believe that a stain on her impending campaign may become a mixed reputation as a Prosecutor. During his tenure, the Senator has supported the maintenance of prisoners in solitary confinement despite research that showed that this practice severely harms their health.
