Trump has declared a state of emergency

President Donald trump has just confirmed that he will declare a state of emergency in the United States to provide funding for the construction of a wall on the southern border.

During a press conference at the White house, the American leader claimed that he did this to counter the «invasion of our country, drug traffickers, and all sorts of criminals and gangs.»

According to trump, declaring a state of emergency was frequently practiced by his predecessors.

«It was signed by other presidents since 1977, and [Declaration of emergency] gave presidents the power, — said the tramp. — They signed [it] and nobody cared…»

The President stressed that his slogan «Make America great again» cannot be implemented without the protection of the border. The head of the White house once again repeated their rhetoric about how El Paso is safe because of the metal fence (Previously USA.One did factcheck this statement — and it turned out to be false).

Yesterday, 14 February, the speaker of the house of representatives and the democratic leader Nancy Pelosi said that in the case of an emergency, the Democrats could sue. Trump told reporters that he is ready for such a turn and in this case they intend to reach the Supreme court.

Pelosi and minority leader in the Senate, Chuck Schumer after the speech, trump released a joint statement in which it was said that the President’s decision will cause «great damage» to the U.S. Constitution.

«This is an obvious takeover disappointed by the President that went beyond the law to try to achieve what he could not achieve through the constitutional legislative process.»

Democratic leaders urged their Republican colleagues to oppose the Declaration. «Congress cannot allow the President to destroy the Constitution,» said Schumer and Pelosi to the Republicans.

After the press conference, trump immediately went to his office to sign the corresponding decree. His press Secretary Sarah Sanders made the appropriate tweet on his page.
