Ukraine has chosen a new President. It will be Vladimir Zelensky

In Ukraine held the second round of presidential elections. According to the Central election Commission to 20-00 local time in the voting took part 59,62% of the voters. Significant violations are not fixed. CEC counts votes.

According to the national exit poll, Vladimir Zelensky gaining of 73.2%, Petro Poroshenko 25.3 percent. The data Ekzit-floors 112+NewsOne showed 73,7% Zelensky, 26,3% for Poroshenko. Exit poll TSN gives 72.7 per cent for Zelensky and 27.3% for Poroshenko. As UKRINFORM reported, 70.3% of respondents from Central and 85.4% in the South said they had voted for Zelenski, as for Poroshenko, 13.4% of residents in the South and of 28.0% from the center.

Official results of the election will be later, but Vladimir Zelensky already accepting congratulations, one of the first of Petro Poroshenko, who has said that he is ready to lean new head of the state and pass the whole network of international support of Ukraine:

«I personally and my whole team is ready to lend a helping hand to the President in all his decisions that will meet the national interests of Ukraine and to bring us closer to EU and NATO… moreover, I am willing to give him the entire network of international support of Ukraine the whole network, which we so carefully built for years…»

At the headquarters Zelensky to celebrate the victory, Vladimir Zelensky, turning to the reporters, among other things, said: «While I’m still not officially the President. I can say as a citizen of Ukraine to all countries of the former Soviet Union — look at us, everything is possible.»

Vladimir Zelensky — brand new face on the political scene of Ukraine. Melinda Haring, an expert on Ukraine at the Atlantic Council in Washington, D.C., commented on his appearance on elections in VOX: «for a long time, there was a desire to find a new face. It was clear that people want someone without such baggage and connections with the political dinosaurs.»
