Less than in Manhattan, average size of American apartments only in Seattle

Yes, Manhattan is not a fairytale for residents here is the highest rent — and the second smallest living space of apartments. If we analyze the sizes of apartments in the United States over the past decade, the results show that the new apartments have a 5% smaller area, and average rent increased by 28%.

Manhattan shared second place with Chicago, with an average area of apartments in 68,09 sq. m, and lost the first Seattle – 66,05 sq. m. Data for the year show that the average area in the country is 87.4 sq. m.

In 2018, the average rent in Manhattan was $4 181 in October, compared with $4 021 in the same month last year. But there is relatively good news: the average area of housing in Manhattan increased by 12% from 2008 to 2018. It is the fourth largest increase in the country.
