The public was subjected to Donald trump’s criticism that he had paid insufficient attention to Puerto Rico, which was severely damaged from hurricane Maria, reports the New York Post.
But today, 26 September, the President announced that he would visit the island in a week, next Tuesday.
As explained trump, it’s the nearest date when he can get to the island, the way that hamper the terrible destruction brought by the hurricane.
As stated by the leader of the United States, despite the fact that Puerto Rico «literally destroyed», he is confident that soon the island will come back to life.
Residents of Puerto Rico, he added, «it is important for all of us.»
As the President said, the Federal government «by the hour» deliver the island humanitarian aid. Trump also does not exclude that on the way to visit the US virgin Islands.
We will remind that on 20 September, a powerful hurricane Maria swept over the island, sweeping away everything in its path. To date, about 3.5 million people in Puerto Rico still lack drinking water, food and fuel. The island has no electricity, and, as predicted by the authorities for restoration of power supply may take about a month.
