People living in poor, predominantly African-American neighborhoods in new Yorkare arrested for jumping turnstiles in the subway more often than in other parts of the city.
The report, published this week by a group of lawyers and non-profit organization, the Community Service Society.
The study considered arrest 4054 157 subway stations in Brooklyn in 2016. According to the data, about half of all those arrested for jumping turnstile – people in poor neighborhoods, African Americans aged 16 to 36 years.
