City Council member from Brooklyn, Democrat David Greenfield amazed that the city «blew» 2 million dollars on a small public toilet in the Park.

As reported by Greenfield in his Twitter it took him seven and a half years to convince the municipality to renovate the Park Gravesend on 18th Avenue.

But the joy that it managed to do was darkened for the official, when he found out that the construction of new public toilets the city has spent $ 2 million, while the toilet area of only 400 square feet (37 square meters).

«I’m upset that we, in fact, wasting taxpayers’ money,» said David Greenfield in an interview on WCBS-TV. «For a million dollars you can even build a completely comfortable house».

Greenfield accused the administration personally to the mayor of new York bill de Blasio in such extravagance, endorsed Brooklyn Republican candidate for mayor in future elections Nicole Malliotakis.

«Obviously city hall thinks taxpayer money grow on trees,» she said.

In comments to the tweet of Greenfield, where he wrote: «For those who thought I was exaggerating, claiming that the toilet area is 400 feet. This is the men’s room. One stall and one urinal!» mark and the residents of new York.
