The trading network Walmart has apologized after one of the stores on display of weapons was displayed a banner with the words: «Spend the academic year as a hero.»
The photo immediately spread through social networks, causing a lot of outraged and angry comments.
Obviously, the banner was part of a marketing campaign Walmart about superheroesthat doesn’t involve weapons. For example, the network advertises t-shirts or backpacks for school kids with logos of well-known characters from the comics.
Charles Crowson, speaker Walmart, told The Washington Post that they don’t know exactly who placed this inscription – a store employee or customer.
«This is totally unacceptable, we are very sorry about what happened and figure out how this could happen,» added Croson.
