At least 5 people were killed in three tornadoes in new York

Four tornado covered the North-Eastern part of the United States during an intense storm on Tuesday. Three of them were rampant in the state of new York. In storm-affected counties of orange and Putnam wind speed reached 136 — 177 km/hour, and in Dutchess County, hail the size of a baseball.

New York and Philadelphia, the storm caught just in time for the evening rush hour, which led to significant disruptions in service for passengers of public transport.

Collapsed during the disaster the trees claimed the lives of five people in new York, Connecticut and Pennsylvania. Among the dead is 11-year-old girl and a woman from Newburgh, orange County.

As of Wednesday evening, remain without electricity 300 000 subscribers in new York and Pennsylvania, where swept the fourth tornado.

Intense phase of the storm has passed, however, precipitation is still expected in the area from Florida to new York. According to forecasts by Accuweather, to output here will fall to an average of 3 inches of rain, but in some places the rainfall will reach 6 inches. There is a possibility of flooding — particularly high risk at the banks of the river Potomac, Klein Creek, Millstone, Raritan and Rappahannock. Meteorologists warn about a possible difficulty in traffic, which should be considered for people planning to travel this week.

The next series of heavy rains expected in the region on the weekend before memorial Day.
