SSG said that the Boeing over the Donbas shot down the «Buk», had been transferred from Russia

The joint investigation group (OSG) came to the conclusion that the complex «Buk», which was released the missile that shot down a Malaysia Airlines plane over Ukraine, belongs to the 53rd anti-aircraft brigade from the military base located near the Kursk.

The official announcement was made today, may 24. The investigation team led by the Dutch prosecution service, which included experts from Belgium, the Netherlands, Australia, Malaysia and Ukraine, for almost 4 years engaged in the investigation of the tragedy.

After a thorough analysis of video and photographic experts have concluded that crashed in 2014 Boeing was shot down using a specific anti-aircraft missile complex «Buk», which left the base in the village of Marshal Zhukov on 23 June, were deployed to Eastern Ukraine and returned to the place of deployment after the crash.

At a press conference in the Hague, the representative of the OSG Wilbert Paulsen said that about a hundred international experts worked on the case. In the end, they were able to track the entire path of movement of «Buk» and its accompanying vehicles through images in social networks and Google Street View, as well as to remove prints off the shells. After gathering all the evidence together, the OSG there is no doubt that SAM belongs to the Armed forces of the Russian Federation, added Paulsen.

The chief Prosecutor of the Netherlands Fred vesterbeke noted that they know the names of hundreds of people who are likely involved in the incident. According to him, this information is not yet available to the public, so as not to harm the ongoing investigation.

The Malaysia Airlines plane, which was heading from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur was shot down on 7 Jul 2014 over that part of Ukraine, which today is under control of illegal paramilitary groups. In the accident all passengers and crew members (298 people) were killed.
