Greta Thunberg was nominated for the Nobel peace prize

The nomination of young activist for environmental protection put forward the Swedish policy Jens Hill and Hakan of Swindling belonging to the Left party of Sweden. Young Greta Thunberg undoubtedly attracted the world’s attention. On account of 17-year-old activist is already quite achievements, and this fully proves that her voice counts. Greta started her «School strike for the climate» at the Swedish Parliament in August 2018, and since then has inspired and mobilized millions of young people to participate. In 2019, the activist became the youngest «Person of the year» in TIME magazine. In the same year, in her honor was named the tree in Australia. The environmentalists of Tasmania decided to reward the girl for her ongoing work on the well-being of the planet.

The Norwegian Nobel Committee does not comment publicly on the nominations submitted to the award for the year 2020. All applications for the award have already been submitted before 1 February.
