North Korea launched one ballistic missile

The Ministry of defense reported that North Korea made a launch of another ballistic missile. The missile was launched near midnight local time and flew about 990 kilometers.

Press Secretary of the Pentagon captain Jeff Davis said the launch was performed Mupyongni, arms factory in the Northern part of North Korea. Rocket landed at a distance of about 90 nautical miles (167 km) from Hokkaido island, according to Reuters.

«We assume it was an ICBM. This launch was not a surprise to us,» said Davis.

Davis also noted that the launch posed no threat to North America.

«Our commitment to defend allies, including the Republic of Korea and Japan, in the face of these threats remains in force. We remain ready to defend ourselves and our allies from any attacks or provocations»

The chief Cabinet Secretary of Japan yoshihide Suga said that the flight of the missile launched by North Korea, lasted about 45 minutes.

Suga also told reporters that there is no damage to any ship or aircraft caused was not, adding that the rocket likely fell within the exclusive economic zone of Japan.

South Korea also confirmed the fact of launching ballistic missiles.
